Our Adopted Company:Concentrix Corporation(Formerly Link2Support)

Last Friday, we visited our adopted company, Concentrix Corporation(Formerly Link2Support) at Lanang. We went there about around 4-4:30 in the afternoon.

We were excited, at the same time nervous too because it's our first interview. But the people there really welcomed us and treated us nicely. So we became calm and relaxed.

We had our interview with Sir Lou Joe S. Cainday, the HR Supervisor in Organizational Development. We asked him questions about our topic. The interview was good and it took us almost one hour.

Then after the interview, Sir Mahedy G. Brizuela, HR Specialist toured us in their company. Their company is nice even though it is really not that big. They have many computers inside and they are really using advanced technologies. We also had a picture taking.

Earlier, we called the company to ask if we can observe their Human Resource Information System. But they said that they cannot let us do the observation because it's the policy if the company not to show it because all the files there are confidential. Too bad. But still, the experience in entering a call center company is also a good and nice experience.

Giving Letters to Companies: A Hard Thing To Do

Last Wednesday, me and my groupmates in HRM went to different companies and industries to give letters to them to allow us to conduct a case study about their company's HRIS.

We had 7 letters for 7 different industries. So we divided the task in giving letters. The 3 members will give letters to their assigned company and the others will also visit as well their assigned companies.

It was a hard thing to do because some of the industries did not really approve our letters for some reasons. Lucky for us also that there are some industries that accepted our letters, but we will wait for their approval first.

We are just really hoping that we can visit a company for our case study so that we will have something to share for our topic when it is our time to share.

Human Beings

"Human beings are the most important, potent and critical, resource of any organization, and yet the least understood and the worst managed of its resources"

In my own opinion about the quote above, human beings are the most important, potent and critical resources in an organization because they are the ones who work and make the company grow. And because of that, the status of the company lies in their hands. That’s how important human beings are in an organization.

But even though they are important resources in an organization, they are also the least understood and the worst managed. Why? For me, I think they are least understood because human beings in an organization have different attitudes. We don’t know their real colors. Also, sometimes there moods change. This can affect their work and their relationship with other workers. And maybe also this is the same reason why they are the worst managed of the organization’s resources. That's why human beings should be managed well.

That’s how crucial the part being played by the human beings in an organization.

Relevance of HRM in our course

Last last tuesday, our teacher asked us why is Human Resource Management included in our course. I also wonder why is it included.

For me, I think it is included in our course so that we will also have knowledge in managing Human Resource in a department and to know how important Human Resource is in a company.

Because we have knowledge about new technologies, we may be the important person in the company because the status of the company is in our hands. And because maybe, new technologies will arise in the next few years, the subject HRM is included in our course so that we could understand the importance of manpower in a company even though there are many big machines now in companies.

Also, for me, maybe it is included in our course because if we could have knowledge in HRM, then we could use our knowledge in managing files in a database because that's what they are using in most companies nowadays. They keep and manage files of their employees in a database. So maybe it is also one of the reason why it is included in our course.

21st Century Corporations

We are in the 21st century right now, and for me, these century will be a century of progress, productivity and development because there will be new technologies that will arise.

These new technologies today are one of the main reasons why corporations today become more productive and competitive, and also, because of humans who operate this technologies, it become more useful to the corporations.

Manpower in a corporation is very important because they are the ones who makes the corporations grow because they are the ones who are working. But there are some corporations today that depends on big machines, although they have manpower, but they were less. And maybe in the next 30 to 50 years, machines and robots will rule in companies and corporations. These can make corporations more productive and competetive. But what about the people? There will be some corporations that will still need manpower, but depends more on big machines.

For me, there is no doubt that corporations in the 21st century will grow and will become more productive and competitive because of new technologies. But these new technologies will not be useful to the corporation if they were not handled or operated by humans.
