The event started around 3:30 p.m. All those who attended were divided into 5 groups. Every group must share on how DevCon can improve and what DevCon can do on the students, teachers, companies and the IT industry, because DevCon has now become a foundation and they want to help the IT industry in the Philippines.
The first group to present was group 4. They shared on how DevCon can improve their events such as Lightning Talk, Birds of Feather and Hackaton. Also, they shared about DevCon being in schools to have seminars and bring the events of Devcon. Group 3 shared about the unemployment rate of IT graduates and that DevCon would help also on that problem. Group 2 shared about DevCon narrowing the gaps of the professionals and the IT students and also helping the unemployed IT people land jobs. Group 1, which was my group, shared about DevCon having a forum for the students and also the IT Professionals where students can ask questions about some IT topics and professionals can share their knowledge about those topics. The group also said that DevCon should also organize jobs fair for the unemployed IT graduates in order for these graduates to land a job. And the last to share was the group 5. They said that they hope DevCon would help IT students to gain more knowledge about the IT industry because they said that was one of the problems of IT students.
After the sharing, foods were served to all those who attended in the said event. There were also drinks served.
The event was short, yet it was still fun. Hope DevCon will have an event again in Davao next time.
