Human Resource Management

Our assignment is to interview a personnel/ human resource manager on his/her concept on the nature, scope and role of human resource management, explain if we agree or disagree to him/her and is his/her concept similar to that of the management of his/ organization and if not, ask him/her how the differences are settled.

For this assignment, we asked Mam Gerlie P. Sayon of DcTech about it. She said that the Human Resource functions includes a variety of activities, and the key among them is deciding what staffing needs you have and whether to use independent contractors or hire employees to fill these needs, recruiting and training the best employees, ensuring they are high performers, dealing with performance issues, and ensuring your personnel and management practices conform to various regulations. Activities also include managing your approach to employee benefits and compensation, employee records and personnel policies. However, they should always ensure that employees have, and are aware of, personnel policies which conform to current regulations. These policies are often in the form of employee manuals, which all employees have.

I agree with what she said about human resource management because that is HRM almost about. HRM is about employees in an organization being hired and trained to become a better employee for their company. It is also about dealing the employees' performance issues, managing their compensation and benefits, and making sure that the employee is having a good relationship with other employees.

Her concept about HR function are similar with what is in the organization right now. She as an HR personnel must perform all the function that is expected to her.
